Notes of tart red plum, cherry and cranberry are evident on the nose. The well-integrated oak gives hints of nuts, toast and ripe creamy weight, apricot and peach fruit with an orange-peel savoury finish.
Light bright orange. Powerful, mineral-tinged raspberry, blood orange and jasmine aromas, backed by a hint of succulent herbs. Fleshy and concentrated yet lithe as well, offering gently sweet red fruit and bitter orange pith flavors that are given spine by a core of tangy acidity. In a powerful style but carries no excess weight. Closes chewy, focused and dry, featuring resonating floral and mineral notes and strong persistence. This wine reminds me a lot of a top-notch pink Bandol.
This rose from Jaun Gil is an all-rounder with food and is delicious with salads, pasta, paella, fish and cheese, but it is also a perfect wine for picnics, barbecues and summer parties and highly recommended with spicy food.
